Choose a SKU source#

Generate automatically builds a SKU from your saved format. Read from product photos looks for a photographed label. Enter manually leaves the value for staff to type during listing.

Build a format#

Start with a preset or add up to eight sections. Available sections include product data such as brand, category, size, cost, and consignor, plus fixed text, dates, batch, and a sequence. Reorder the sections and choose a separator while watching the SKU preview.

A section can define its own formatting. For example, brand can use initials, cost can use whole units or cents, and dates can use short or padded values. Generated letters use uppercase for consistent scanning.

Sequence settings#

A sequence gives each generated SKU a changing number. Choose its digit count and when it resets. A sequence that never resets is the simplest choice when every SKU must stay unique across the catalog.

Validation and policies#

Turn on Validate entered SKUs to compare typed or photographed values with the saved format. For missing SKUs, choose whether SECND warns, blocks publishing, or omits the SKU. For duplicate SKUs, choose whether SECND warns or blocks.

Publish or save the finished SKU settings before relying on them during intake. Test one new product and confirm its preview, separator, and sequence.
