Common questions about running your shop on SECND

The questions that come up most in demos, answered without marketing language: what happens when two channels sell the same item, what the free plan really includes, how migration works, and what happens to your data if you leave.

What happens if two channels sell the same item?

The first confirmed sale wins. That item is marked sold in your inventory and delisting is queued for every other channel within seconds. In practice the exposure window is the time between the two purchases, which is why delisting speed matters more than any other single number in a crosslisting tool.

No system can make that window zero — the two buyers may click within the same second. What a good system does is make the window seconds rather than the hours you get from a nightly sync or the indefinite window you get from manual delisting.

What does the free plan actually include?

Crosslisting, sale detection and automatic delisting, plus a monthly allowance of AI-drafted listings. It is a standing plan rather than a trial that expires, and it does not ask for a card. Paid plans raise the AI allowance and add team, automation and reporting capability.

How hard is it to switch from what I use now?

Easier than most people expect, because the bulk of the work is import rather than re-entry. Existing listings can be imported from connected marketplaces, and catalogues can come in from a file export. The part that takes real thought is not the data — it is deciding which channel becomes your source of truth.

Do I need to keep a computer running?

No, for anything on an API connection. Listings publish and delist from SECND's servers. This is the practical difference between a platform and a browser extension: an extension can only act while a tab is open on a machine that is awake.

Who owns the data, and can I get it out?

Your inventory, your customers and your sales history are yours. You can export your data, and you can delete your account and have your data removed. Being able to leave is a reasonable thing to check before you commit a catalogue to any system.

Can more than one person use it?

Yes. Team members are invited into your organisation with roles, which matters most for consignment stores and charity shops where volunteers or part-time staff should be able to do intake without seeing payouts or billing.

Frequently asked questions

Will SECND list items without me approving them?

Not unless you set up an automation that says so. The default flow is that AI produces a draft and you approve it. Automations exist for operators who want unattended publishing at volume, but they are opt-in.

What happens to my listings if I cancel?

Listings that are live on marketplaces belong to your marketplace accounts and stay there. What you lose is the syncing, the delisting and the reporting, which is exactly the part that is doing the work.

Is my marketplace login stored?

API connections use authorisation tokens issued by the marketplace, not your password, and you can revoke them from the marketplace side at any time. Browser-session channels act through your own signed-in session.

Can I try it without connecting a marketplace?

Yes. You can create items and see the drafting quality before you connect anything, which is a sensible way to evaluate the part of the product that is hardest to judge from a screenshot.
