How AI listing drafting works

The AI reads your photos and drafts a title, category, condition, attributes and description for you to review. It is a first-draft engine, not an autopilot — the value is in removing the blank page, and in learning your voice from the corrections you make.

What it actually does

Given photos of an item, the model identifies what the object is, reads visible text like labels and maker's marks, assesses apparent condition, and produces a structured draft: a title written for marketplace search, a category, condition, attributes such as material and colour, and a description in prose.

That draft lands in front of you for review. Nothing publishes without your approval unless you have deliberately configured an automation that says otherwise.

What it is good at, and what it is not

Why corrections matter

The system learns from what you change. If you consistently rewrite condition language a certain way, prefer particular category mappings, or always add a specific note for a category, those preferences shape later drafts.

The practical consequence is that the first week is the worst the tool will ever be. Sellers who abandon it after twenty items are judging it before it has seen enough of their corrections to be useful.

Getting better drafts

  • Shoot the label as its own frame. It is the highest-value single photo for draft accuracy.
  • Use even, neutral light. Colour accuracy affects both the draft and the return rate.
  • Photograph flaws deliberately rather than hoping they go unnoticed — the description should include them, and it can only do that if they are visible.
  • Fill the frame. A small item in a large photo produces a vague draft.
  • Correct rather than rewrite. Fixing the specific wrong word teaches more than replacing the whole description.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI publish listings on its own?

Not by default. Drafts require your approval. Unattended publishing exists as an automation for high-volume operators who have decided they want it, but it is opt-in rather than the default behaviour.

Is my inventory data used to train models for other sellers?

Your corrections shape your own drafting. Check the privacy policy for the current, precise statement of how data is handled — it is the authoritative document rather than a summary on a knowledge page.

What if the AI describes a flaw incorrectly?

Correct it, and correct it precisely. Condition accuracy is the field with the most direct financial consequence, because overstated condition produces returns and understated condition produces lost margin.

How many AI listings do I get?

The free plan includes a monthly allowance; paid plans raise it. See the pricing page for the current numbers.
