Vinted Fees 2026: What Sellers Pay vs What Buyers Pay

Vinted charges sellers no commission; buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee of about 5% + $0.70. What sellers actually pay, optional costs and payouts.

Vinted's fee model is the opposite of Poshmark's. Instead of taking a commission from the seller, Vinted charges the buyer a Buyer Protection fee at checkout. For sellers, that means the price you list is the price you are paid.

That makes Vinted one of the cheapest places to sell clothing, shoes and accessories — but "no seller fees" does not mean "no costs." There are optional promotion features, shipping decisions and payout rules worth understanding before you price.

This guide covers what Vinted charges sellers and buyers, how the Buyer Protection fee affects what shoppers are willing to pay, and how Vinted compares with Depop, Poshmark and eBay.

TL;DR — Vinted fees (as of 2026):
• Seller commission: 0%— you receive your full sale price
• Buyer Protection fee, paid by the buyer: about 5% of the item price + a fixed amount (around $0.70 in the US, £0.70 in the UK)
• Shipping is paid by the buyer; Vinted provides prepaid labels
• Optional paid promotions for sellers: Bumps and Closet Spotlight
• Exact amounts vary by country — Vinted shows the buyer fee at checkout

Vinted adjusts the Buyer Protection fee by market. Confirm current figures in Vinted's Help Center for your country.

What Vinted Charges Sellers

Nothing on the sale itself. There is no listing fee, no commission and no payment processing deduction for sellers (as of 2026 — verify on the marketplace's fee page). If an item sells for $30, $30 lands in your Vinted balance once the order completes.

The costs sellers can choose to pay are promotional:

Bumps push individual listings higher in search and feeds for a few days.
Closet Spotlight promotes your whole closet to more shoppers for a set period.

Both are optional. Plenty of sellers never use them, and they are best reserved for higher-value items or for giving a new closet an early push.

The Buyer Protection Fee (Paid by Buyers)

Every purchase made through Vinted's checkout includes a Buyer Protection fee, calculated as a percentage of the item price plus a fixed amount. In the US it is about 5% + $0.70; in the UK about 5% + £0.70. The fee funds refunds when items are not as described, secure payment and dispute support.

Item priceBuyer Protection (≈5% + $0.70)Buyer pays before shippingSeller receives
$10$1.20$11.20$10.00
$30$2.20$32.20$30.00
$80$4.70$84.70$80.00
Why sellers should still care:buyers see the total with Buyer Protection and shipping. A $10 item can cost a shopper $16 or more by the time shipping is added, which is why Vinted buyers bundle and negotiate. Price with the buyer's total in mind.

Shipping and Payouts

The buyer chooses and pays for shipping at checkout. When the item sells, Vinted gives you a prepaid label or a drop-off code, depending on the carrier and country. You pack the item and drop it off within the shipping window.

Your money is released to your Vinted balance once the buyer confirms everything is fine, or automatically after a short window following delivery. From there you can transfer to your bank account. Vinted does not deduct a commission at payout.

Ship within the deadline. Orders that are not shipped in time are cancelled and the buyer is refunded. Late shipping also hurts your reviews, which matter a lot on Vinted.

Vinted vs Depop, Poshmark and eBay

What the seller keeps on a $30 clothing sale, US rates as of 2026, before shipping:

MarketplaceWho pays the feeSeller fee on $30Seller keeps
VintedBuyer (Buyer Protection)$0.00$30.00
DepopSeller (processing only)$1.44$28.56
eBaySeller$4.48$25.52
PoshmarkSeller$6.00$24.00

Vinted is the cheapest for the seller, but the buyer pays more on top, so listing prices on Vinted often need to be slightly lower to stay competitive. The best approach for most resellers is to list the same item on several of these and see where it sells — our Depop fees and Poshmark fees guides cover the other side.

How to Make the Most of Vinted's Fee Model

1. Encourage bundles

Buyer Protection and shipping are per order, so bundles make each item cheaper for the buyer. Set a bundle discount in your settings.

2. Use Bumps sparingly

Bump higher-value items or new listings, not your whole closet. Since you pay no commission, a small promotion budget can still leave you ahead of other platforms.

3. Price for the buyer's total

Check what a shopper will pay after Buyer Protection and shipping. On low-value pieces, a slightly lower list price can be the difference between selling and sitting.

4. Cross-list your wardrobe

Vinted's audience overlaps only partly with Depop's and Poshmark's. Listing everywhere increases your chances; a cross-listing app that supports Vinted lets you do it from one listing and delists the rest when one sells. See how to sell on Vinted and what sells on Vinted for the next steps.
