Poshmark has one of the simplest fee structures in resale, and one of the highest headline rates. There is no listing fee, no payment processing line item and no monthly subscription. There is just one commission, and on most sales it is 20%.
That flat 20% is easy to remember, but it hides a couple of things that catch new sellers: the fee structure changes under $15, shipping is a separate buyer-paid charge that you can choose to subsidize, and Canadian sellers work off a different threshold in Canadian dollars.
This guide walks through exactly what Poshmark takes, with worked numbers at three price points, a side-by-side against eBay, Mercari and Depop, and the pricing habits that keep more of each sale in your pocket. If you just want the math done for you, use our free Poshmark fee calculator.
• Sales under $15: flat $2.95 fee
• Sales of $15 or more: 20% of the sale price
• Buyer pays a flat $7.97 for shipping (USPS Priority, up to 5 lb); you can offer discounted or free shipping and pay the difference
• No listing fees, no payment processing fees; direct deposit payouts are free
• Canada: C$3.95 under C$20, 20% at C$20 and above

The Two-Tier Poshmark Fee
Poshmark's commission has two tiers based on the item's sale price (as of 2026 — verify on the marketplace's fee page):
Sales under $15: Poshmark keeps a flat $2.95. Whether the item sells for $5 or $14.99, the fee is the same $2.95.
Sales of $15 or more: Poshmark keeps 20% of the sale price. You keep 80%.
The commission is calculated on the item price the buyer pays after any discount you accepted — an offer, a bundle discount or a price drop. It is not calculated on the shipping charge, because shipping is billed to the buyer separately and goes toward the prepaid label.
The under-$15 tier is where the effective rate gets ugly. On a $6 sale, $2.95 is almost half the money. On a $14 sale it is about 21%. Cross the $15 line and the rate drops to a clean 20%. That is why experienced sellers rarely list singles below $15 and instead bundle low-value pieces — more on that below.
Who Pays Shipping on Poshmark?
By default, the buyerpays a flat $7.97 shipping charge on every US order (as of 2026 — verify on the marketplace's fee page). That covers a USPS Priority Mail label for packages up to 5 lb. When the item sells, Poshmark emails you a prepaid, pre-addressed label. You print it, tape it on, and drop the box at the post office. You never buy postage yourself.
Because the buyer sees the shipping cost on top of your price, sellers have two levers that touch shipping:
Discounted or free shipping on offers. When you send an offer to likers or accept an offer, you can attach a shipping discount. Poshmark then charges the buyer less (or nothing) for shipping and deducts the difference from your earnings. On a $30 sale with free shipping, you pay the $7.97 label yourself, so your net drops from $24.00 to $16.03.
Overweight packages. If a package exceeds the label's weight limit, you can upgrade the label in-app and the extra postage comes out of your earnings.
No Listing or Processing Fees
This is the part of Poshmark that genuinely is simple. There is no fee to list an item, no fee to relist it, no charge to share it, and no separate payment processing percentage. Credit card and payment costs are baked into the commission. An unsold closet of 500 items costs you nothing to keep live.
Payouts work the same way. Once the buyer accepts the order (or three days pass after delivery), your earnings become redeemable. Direct deposit to a bank account is free. Instant transfer to a debit card carries a small fee. If you are not in a hurry, use direct deposit and keep the whole balance.
Compare that to eBay's fee structure, where the final value fee is applied to item price, shipping and sales tax, plus a per-order fee. Poshmark's 20% is higher on paper, but the number of moving parts is much lower.
Poshmark Fees in Canada
Poshmark Canada uses the same two-tier logic with Canadian-dollar thresholds (as of 2026 — verify on the marketplace's fee page):
Sales under C$20: flat C$3.95 fee
Sales of C$20 or more: 20% of the sale price
Canadian sellers also get a prepaid label emailed at the point of sale, and the buyer pays a flat shipping charge in CAD. Canadian closets sell to Canadian buyers and US closets sell to US buyers, so you do not need to think about cross-border duty on Poshmark the way you would on eBay. Worked Examples: $12, $45 and $150 Sales
All three examples assume a US sale, the buyer pays the standard $7.97 shipping, and you pay out by free direct deposit. Shipping is excluded from the commission base.
Example 1: A $12 T-shirt
Sale price: $12.00
Poshmark fee: flat $2.95 (under $15 tier)
You keep: $9.05— an effective rate of about 24.6%
Example 2: A $45 pair of jeans
Sale price: $45.00
Poshmark fee: 20% = $9.00
You keep: $36.00
If you had accepted an offer at $40 with a $2 shipping discount: fee $8.00, shipping subsidy $2.00, you keep $30.00.
Example 3: A $150 designer bag
Sale price: $150.00
Poshmark fee: 20% = $30.00
You keep: $120.00
At this price a free-shipping offer costs you $7.97, or about 5% of the sale — much easier to absorb than on the $12 shirt.
Poshmark vs eBay, Mercari and Depop
Here is what each marketplace takes on a $45 item where the buyer pays shipping separately. Figures are US rates as of 2026 — verify on each marketplace's fee page. eBay's final value fee also applies to shipping and sales tax, and Depop's processing applies to item plus shipping, so real-world eBay and Depop numbers will be a little higher than the item-only figures below.
| Marketplace | Fee structure | Fee on $45 item | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| Poshmark | 20% ($2.95 flat under $15) | $9.00 | $36.00 |
| eBay | 13.6% of total + $0.40 per order (most categories) | $6.52 (item only) | $38.48 |
| Mercari | 10% + 2.9% + $0.50 processing | $6.31 | $38.69 |
| Depop | 0% commission; 3.3% + $0.45 processing on item + shipping | $1.94 (item only) | $43.06 |
On pure fee percentage Poshmark is the most expensive of the four. What you get for it is a buyer base that expects to pay shipping, a prepaid label workflow, and a social feed where sharing and offers to likers drive sales without ad spend. Whether that trade is worth it depends on your category — women's fashion and handbags tend to do well, hard goods less so. How to Net More on Poshmark
1. Price singles above the $15 threshold
A $14 item nets you $11.05. A $15 item nets you $12.00. Whenever an item can reasonably sell at $15 or more, list it there. If it truly is a $10 item, it probably belongs in a bundle rather than as a standalone listing.
2. Push bundles
Bundles roll several items into one order, one label and one 20% commission. Three $8 pieces sold separately would each pay $2.95 — $8.85 total on $24 of sales. Sold as a $24 bundle, the fee is $4.80. Set an automatic bundle discount and send a private offer when someone adds a second item to their bundle.
3. Use offers to likers, but keep shipping discounts small
Offers to likers require a price cut and a shipping discount. Choose the smallest shipping discount available and set your list price with a 10–15% offer buffer so the accepted price still lands where you want it. Remember the shipping discount comes out of your earnings.
4. Take payouts by direct deposit
Instant transfer fees are small individually but add up across a busy month. Batch your redemptions weekly to a bank account for free.
5. Cross-list, and let the cheaper channel win
The same $45 item nets $36 on Poshmark and roughly $38–43 on Mercari or Depop. Listing on all three does not cost anything, and whichever sells first gets the sale. The catch is keeping inventory in sync so you never sell one item twice — which is what a cross-listing app with auto-delist handles. Our guide on how to cross-list on multiple platforms covers the workflow.
FAQ
How much does Poshmark take from a sale?
In the US, a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more (as of 2026 — verify on Poshmark's fee page). In Canada, C$3.95 under C$20 and 20% at C$20 and above.
Does Poshmark charge a listing fee?
No. Listing, relisting and sharing are free, and there is no separate payment processing fee. You are charged only when an item sells.
Is the 20% fee charged on shipping too?
No. The commission is calculated on the item's sale price. Shipping is a separate flat charge the buyer pays, which funds the prepaid label. If you offer a shipping discount, the difference is deducted from your earnings.
Are Poshmark fees higher than eBay's?
Usually, yes. eBay's final value fee for most categories is 13.6% plus $0.40 per order, but it applies to the item, shipping and sales tax combined, so the gap is smaller than 20% vs 13.6% suggests. Compare specific items with the eBay fee calculator and the Poshmark fee calculator.
Does Poshmark charge fees on offers I accept?
Yes, the same tiers apply to the accepted offer price. If you accept an offer that drops a $16 item to $14, the fee switches from 20% ($3.20) to the flat $2.95. Any shipping discount attached to the offer is an additional deduction.
Is there a Poshmark fee calculator?
